About: E.A. Shanniak

Welcome to my site! My name is Ericka. I go by E.A. because it's easier. My last name is hard enough to spell, haha. I’m a happily married mother of two. My family and I reside in a small town in South Central Kansas called Coldwater, though we are native Oregonians from the Willamette Valley (specifically the Molalla/Colton area). My family loves the country life, dirt biking, camping, and all things outdoors. As a family, we have 2 dogs (Minnie & Paige), 2 cats (Peanut & Skittles), 5 ducks (Scrooge McDuck, Delilah, Daphne, Waddles & Ducky) and 11 chickens.
I used to work in Medical Billing, handling website/tech issues, social media, blogging, benefits & claims, and more for substance abuse & mental health facilities. Now, I'm a Comanche County 911 dispatcher. My husband is also a part time officer. My kiddos, Teaghann and Braedyn, love Kansas and the friends they have made here. It's been fabulous for us all.

I started my writing journey in May of 2017 where I wrote Piercing Jordie (formerly Jordie In Charge). In June of the same year, I found my amazing publisher Teresa McPherson, who is not only my biggest advocate, but is like a mom to me. In August of 2017, I met my editor Lauren Moore who taught me to hone my craft, and became one very special friends. From this extraordinary start, I've learned to better my story telling and have made progress with each and every book; I want to give my readers a more compelling story every time. Since my start, I'm now fully independently published (often referred to as Indie). I will forever be thankful and grateful to Teresa for my start.

Thanks to editors, friends, fans, and my biggest supporters – my family – I have books in numerous genres with more constantly coming out. I’m so thankful and blessed to be able to do what I love with the loving support I have. Each book I write, I try to make more diverse and interesting than the last. I want to give you – my readers – a well-crafted story.

Each book has been developmentally edited (an edit that looks over plot for cohesiveness) and then after those issues are resolved, I then have the book line/copy edited (looks over grammar and punctuation). But even with all of this, sometime things still slip through the cracks.

       Thanks again for coming!

Be sure to check out my group – Shanniak Shenanigans – for all the latest news, games, and chances to win free ebooks and signed paperbacks. I love giving back to my readers. The group is where all the fun happens.

You can also follow me on Facebook or Instagram, and I now dabble in Tik-Tok (still figuring it out.)

Come away with me on a romantic adventure!
